Oncochain February 2024 Project Update: Enhancing Personalized Cancer Care Through Data Innovation

Scroll Down

We are excited to share the progress we’ve made on the Oncochain project, which is part of the "SMEs Growth Romania - Boost to Romanian Business Sector" program. The project, running from February 2023 to April 2024, focuses on building an innovative data management solution to enhance personalized cancer care. Funded by Innovation Norway, this initiative has taken great strides toward revolutionizing how medical data is handled and analyzed, improving outcomes for cancer patients.

Key Achievements (Jan – Feb 2024)

  1. NLP Model Enhancement: We successfully increased the complexity of our Natural Language Processing (NLP) models, significantly improving our data extraction capabilities. This helps in structuring complex medical data such as discharge notes, pathology reports, and genomics results.
  2. Platform Development: Our software platform has been continuously developed to align with advanced AI technologies, providing researchers and medical professionals actionable insights faster and more efficiently.
  3. Business Development: We have expanded our scope to include new medical fields and established strategic partnerships with hospitals and research organizations, broadening the reach of Oncochain RWD service.
  4. Data Security & Compliance: We’ve implemented regular security audits and updates to ensure compliance with healthcare data protection regulations.
  5. Conference Participation: We’ve presented at key medical events, such as the National Scientific Forum of Romanian Young Oncologists and the European Health Management Association conference. Our innovative solutions have garnered significant interest from the medical community.
  6. Community Engagement: Oncochain is now used by more doctors and hospitals across Romania. We continue to collect valuable feedback to drive product improvements and enhance user experience.

Impact of Oncochain Technology

Our advanced NLP models have demonstrated impressive performance in extracting structured data from complex medical records with success rates between 80% to 98%. This has led to an 60% reduction in data processing time and a significant improvement in data quality. Initially focused on oncology, our technology now supports other medical disciplines like cardiology and gastroenterology.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, our goals include continuing improving our AI algorithms, and strengthening collaborations with research institutions. We are committed to supporting doctors and medical researchers in making more informed decisions and accelerating the pace of cancer research and medical research in general.

Stay tuned for more updates on our journey to transforming personalized cancer care.
