PRESS RELEASE: Originis (fka Oncochain) has successfully completed the Innovation Norway project!

As we conclude the "Oncochain - Innovative Data Management Solution Enhancing the Future of Personalized Cancer Care" project, we are proud to share our achievements and the profound impact of our work. Launched in February 2023 and co-financed by the Norwegian Innovation Norway Fund as part of the "SME Growth Romania - Support for Startups" program, the project has reached its successful conclusion. This milestone marks the beginning of a new era in how medical data is managed and analyzed, advancing both cancer research and clinical practice.

Securing a €200,000 Grant for Medical Innovation

Originis (fka Oncochain) secured in 2023 a €195,300 grant from Innovation Norway to develop and enhance its OncoAbstrakt solution—a cutting-edge platform designed to automatically structure medical data, helping doctors and hospitals quickly access key information from patient records. This advancement not only facilitates efficient medical practice but also supports in-depth analysis and research.

Key Achievements

The Oncochain project has successfully integrated several advanced technologies into the OncoAbstrakt platform:

• Machine Learning Algorithms: We expanded our real-world oncology data platform with new machine learning algorithms, enhancing data structuring and analysis.
• OCR Solutions: We developed Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tools to extract data from printed medical documents, streamlining data entry and analysis.
• NLP for Romanian Language: Our natural language processing (NLP) solutions, specifically tailored for Romanian medical texts, enable automated extraction of critical information from a wide range of medical documents.

Integrating GPT Technology into Medical Data Management

as the project progressed, the integration of GPT technology became a pivotal addition. Recognizing the growing potential of AI, Oncochain introduced GPT-based models midway through the project. This decision significantly enhanced the platform’s ability to manage and analyze medical documents.

The GPT models were specifically re-trained by Oncochain to specialize in Romanian medical data, providing structured insights that could be integrated into hospital databases. This late-stage addition brought a new level of efficiency to medical data management, empowering doctors and researchers with even more precise tools for clinical analysis.
